Unilax is used against chronic constipation in adults and children. Macrogol is not absorbed nor fermented in the gut, does not irritate the mucosa, and is eliminated in the faeces. Thanks to its affinity for water, it acts through osmotic action and softens the stool, facilitating the evacuation without causing cramps, abdominal pain or any emergency conditions. Its effectiveness is not reduced over time. Moreover, simethicone present in the formulation, thanks to its anti-foaming action, is effective in the adsorption of the gastrointestinal gas associated with constipation.
